About Us

Built by the
Blood of the students & youth

Students Health Home (SHH) is an offshoot of country's freedom struggle and can highly be considered a rich heritage of Bengal. It was established in 1952 with a spirit to bear all the burden of ailing students through a self help movement of entire Student community.

You can now enjoy the story of SHH in a full length feature film, "KINTU GALPO NOY" ( released in June 2018). The film is available in almost all digital media as EROS purchased it soon after the release. Renowned artists like Ashoke Mukhopadhyay, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Paran Bandopadhyay, Debshankar Halder, Meghnad Bhattacharya, Badsha Moitra, Papiya Adhikari shared the screen here and that too absolutely on honorary basis.

In last 70 years of its glorious journey SHH has served innumerable ailing students including those who had been suffering from cancer, mutilating injuries or life threatening infection. It is not a fact that every time SHH was successful to save the patient but it's fact that overwhelming majority got cured and the rest unfortunate young sufferers got the best possible support here in all sense i.e. treatment, love and affection.

However the primary goal of SHH is disease prevention among students so that the future generations be healthier and stronger. That's why SHH continues health screening and health awareness in schools, colleges and universities through out the year. SHH has its own module for this job.

SHH also serves general people particularly during the hours of their dire need e.g. natural calamities, epidemics, riots etc. For this SHH has been felicitated time and again by Government and other different organizations. Sundarban tiger reserve has recently felicitated SHH for the mammoth medical relief work done in Sundarban areas after the Yash cyclone.

Since its inception SHH was never involved in political activities. However, reputed political personalities patronized SHH in odds and even.

Our
Mission

For last ten years SHH has been facing financial crisis. Various grants of SHH is on hold, membership collection has become difficult. Reasons are varied but the two years of COVID pandemic is definitely the greatest blow. However, the movement has not succumbed. Very recently SHH has been planning to utilize optimally its hospital service for the general population at reasonable rate. Any surplus will be spent for the benefit of Students. The rights, member students did enjoy so far, will remain unchanged.

Hope good human beings around the globe will be with this unique self help health movement. Let's be with the students, they are our future. They are future makers too.
